Commercial Vegetable Research Field Day

Comprehensive tour of K-State’s specialty crop trials featuring presentations by K-State faculty and research staff. Projects include tomato grafting, fruit and vegetable variety trials, high tunnels production systems, postharvest quality, cover cropping mixes for improved soil health, and more. Stay for a cookout in the shade and recognition ceremony for this year’s Growing Growers apprentices.

- All vegetable growers welcome – beginner to experienced.
- Walking tour of OHC high tunnel and outdoor research plots.
- Crops growing this year include tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, over crops, and industrial hemp.
- Presentations about research results, post-harvest handling, and produce safety.
- Recognition of Growing Growers apprenticeship graduates.
- Dinner provided – cookout hosted by OHC staff and students.
- Seating provided. Lawn chairs welcome.
